One-to-one psychotherapy

A steady space to think, feel, and find your way.

At different points in life, many people carry more than they can easily put into words — feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply aware that something needs attention. I offer a private, professional space to slow things down, understand what's happening, and begin working through it at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy here isn't about being judged, rushed, or reduced to a label.

Therapy should feel both professionally safe, and deeply human.

What therapy is for

A space for whatever you're carrying.

Therapy may also suit you if you're functioning outwardly but privately struggling. Many people who seek it aren't "falling apart" — they're trying to understand themselves better, cope more effectively, and make changes that feel overdue. I work with adults experiencing difficulties such as:

How it works

A clear, unhurried path to starting.

  1. Making contact

A brief enquiry by form or email is enough — you don't need the right words yet. I'll consider whether my service fits and offer an initial consultation.

  2. The initial consultation

A focused first meeting to discuss what's brought you here, what you're experiencing, and what you hope to gain — and for you to get a feel for how I work.

  3. Understanding the difficulty

We build a shared understanding — when the difficulty began, what keeps it going, how it affects you, and what change would look like.

  4. Choosing the approach

After assessment, we settle on a way of working — CBT, REBT, ACT, solution-focused or person-centred — chosen for your goals and the evidence.

  5. Goals & reviewing progress

Where it helps, we set goals and review progress as we go, keeping the work focused, relevant, and responsive to your needs.

Questions & fees

Not always. I see a small number of clients at any one time, so there is occasionally a short wait. Do get in touch and I'll let you know where things stand.

I work with adults across a wide range of difficulties. At the initial assessment we consider together whether I'm the right fit — and if I'm not, I'll gladly help point you in the right direction.

Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly, at a regular time that is held for you.

I draw on a range of evidence-informed approaches — first wave, second wave, and third wave cognitive behavioural therapy — and tailor the work to you. I don't believe one model fits everyone: some people benefit from structure and practical tools, others from space to explore. Many need both.

Therapy is confidential, with clear professional boundaries. The recognised limits relate to serious risk of harm to yourself or others, safeguarding concerns, or legal obligations — and I explain these clearly at the start of our work.

Fees are agreed before we begin. Psychological reports are quoted individually.
