The terms on which we provide this website and our services.
These terms are a working draft prepared as a starting point. Please have them reviewed by a qualified legal adviser, and replace every bracketed placeholder, before the site goes live.
This website is operated by The Mayfair Practice ("the Practice", "we", "us"), registered in Mauritius under business registration number BRN 116010958, with its registered address at 3 Closel Road, Vacoas-Phoenix, Plaines Wilhems, 73417, Mauritius. You can contact us at mdeonaran@mayfair-practice.com or on +230 59081455.
Clinical services are provided by Dr Mahensingh Deonaran, who is registered with the British Psychological Society under registration number 344342 and is bound by that body's code of ethics and conduct.
By using this website, or by booking or receiving any service from us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the site or our services. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies.
The content of this website is provided for general information only. It does not constitute psychological, medical or other professional advice, and it does not create a therapeutic or professional relationship between you and the Practice. You should not rely on anything on this site as a substitute for an individual consultation.
We are not an emergency or crisis service and we do not monitor enquiries outside working hours. If you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm, contact the emergency services — Police on 999 or 112, or Ambulance/SAMU on 114 (if you are unsure which service you need, call 112) — go to your nearest emergency department, or contact the Befrienders service on 467 0160.
Fees are as published on the relevant service page or as agreed with you in writing before work begins, and are quoted in Mauritian rupees. Payment is due on completion of each session. We may review our fees from time to time and will give you reasonable notice of any change affecting ongoing work.
What you discuss with us is treated as confidential and is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and our professional obligations. Confidentiality is not absolute. We may need to disclose information without your consent where there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, where we are required to do so by law or by a court, or where disclosure is necessary to comply with our professional or regulatory duties. Wherever it is safe and practicable to do so, we will discuss this with you first.
Clinical work is discussed in professional supervision. Supervisors are themselves bound by confidentiality, and identifying details are minimised.
You may view, download and print pages from this site for your own personal use. You may not reproduce, republish or exploit any part of it commercially without our written permission. All text, images, branding and design on this site are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
You agree not to misuse this site, including by introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or using it in any way that is unlawful or that could damage or impair it.
Where we link to third-party websites, we do so for information only. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it or for any loss arising from your use of them.
We aim to keep this site available and its content accurate and current, but we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or up to date. We may suspend, withdraw or change the site, or any part of it, without notice.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of this website, and our total liability in connection with the site is limited to MUR 10,000.
This clause does not affect your rights in relation to clinical services provided to you, which are governed by our professional obligations and by the law of Mauritius.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please tell us first at mdeonaran@mayfair-practice.com so that we can try to put it right. If the matter remains unresolved, you may raise it with the British Psychological Society complaints procedure.
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them, are governed by the law of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius have exclusive jurisdiction.
